Just Imagine

By: Atty Bobby Quitain

Imagine…

Lifting weights with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as your trainer,

Or investing in business with Bill Gates as your partner,

Or playing basketball with Michael Jordan as your teammate,

Or figuring out a scientific problem with Einstein as your tutor.

Being friends with an expert is quite an advantage.

Now, imagine being best friends with the expert of life. Imagine being friends with God.

No fear.

No anxiety.

No worries.

Your friend is bigger than the biggest trouble you will ever face.

Cancer is cancelled.

Wars are walloped.

Troubles are trampled upon.

Simply because you are friends with God.

So how do you become friends with God?

Believe.

Now, believing means more than an intellectual exercise. Believing is an active posture of complete trust in God’s greatness and goodness.

Take the case of Abraham.

Scripture says: “And the scripture was fulfilled that says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,’ and he was called God’s friend.” (James 2:23)

Many years ago, in one of the lowest moments of my life, I heard God spoke to my heart,

“You are my friend.”

I wept.

I don’t deserve such a privilege.

I am sinful, selfish and sometimes, even sinister.

But you see, God’s friendship is a gift. He gives it to us not because we deserve his friendship but simply because he loves us. It is not on our own merits that we are called His friend.

You are His friend not because of who you are but because of who He is.

So forget The Rock, the Microsoft giant, the GOAT, or the smartest man in the world.

You have all of them rolled into one, and more!

You are friends with Jesus.

Stay with Him because He says that “Whoever remains in me & I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing” (John 15:5)

Life will always be difficult.

Problems will continue. Sad moments will come.

But as Romans 8:28 says, “We know that all things work for good for those who love God”

Be glued to God. Stay with Him. Follow Him all the way.

For those who are down & suffering now, I pray that you may find hope & encouragement from the LIGHT that Jesus gives. God bless you! –
